NAPA, its Members, and its engineers are in the forefront of continuous improvement in asphalt pavement research and technology. Back in the 1950s, the first standing committee established by NAPA was the Quality Improvement Committee. In the mid-1980s, NAPA’s Members endowed the National Center for Asphalt Technology, which has become the world’s leading institution for asphalt research.

This proud history continues today, as NAPA leads the way on breakthrough technologies including Perpetual Pavements, pavements with high recycled content, and warm-mix technology.
