Instructions to Create the full CD (CD ISO)
ISO image files contain a complete file structure. This structure can be extracted and directly burned to disc. Most CD creation software supports ISO files. Click here for instructions on how to do this with the free program CD Burner XP
Instructions to download and set up the program (Basic, Intermediate and Full):
- Right click on one of the three links above and choose Save Target As...
- Save the file to your hard drive in a location you will remember.
- Double-click the downloaded file to unzip it. (If you do not have an unzip utility installed on your
machine, you first should download and install the free WinZip program.) The WinZip Wizard will guide you through the unzip process.
You are now ready to install Roadway Safety+ v9.0 on your system.
- Locate the setup.exe for Roadway Safety+ v9.0 on your hard drive and
- Double-click the file to begin installation.
The InstallShield Wizard will then guide you through the setup.
Trouble Shooting Tips for Roadway Safety Plus:
If these solutions fail, please contact us and we will help you resolve any issues.
- You use Windows 7 or Vista: To install RSP+ with Windows 7 or Vista, you must run as an Administrator. If the install is from a CD, open the CD in explore mode, find the executable (.exe), right click it, and select "Run as Administrator" from the drop down menu. If the install is from a download, find the executable (.exe) in your selected download folder, right click it, and select ‘Run as Administrator’ to install the program with ‘administrative rights’.
- You replace an earlier version of RSP: Before installing a new version, you must uninstall any previous version either from the control panel ‘Add or Remove Programs’ option or select ‘Start’ and from the Programs menu, open the Roadway Safety Group and select ‘uninstall.’ Typically, when you try to install Version 9 to replace an earlier version, you will receive a message saying to uninstall the previous version, and the installer will quit. Unfortunately, sometimes, the install will abort prior to this warning and leave you with no explanation. If that occurs, then check to confirm that any previous version is uninstalled.
- The install works but running the program generates a ‘Director Script Error’ on the first screen: Most likely, QuickTime and/or Acrobat reader are not installed. (The program contains a trapping routine designed to indicate these are missing and give a download option, but on some machines it returns the Script Error, without giving the reason.). To fix this problem: Download and install QuickTime. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ If you previously installed QuickTime, do not assume it is still present; check to confirm. After the QuickTime installation, run RSP+ again from the desktop icon or the program group (RSP+ re-install is not required). If the issue persists, confirm Acrobat Reader is installed. If not, download and install Acrobat Reader. http://get.adobe.com/reader/ After the installations of QuickTime and Acrobat Reader, run RSP+ again (RSP+ re-install is not required). If the issue persists, please let us know and we will explore it with you.
- During install, a message ‘installation of Microsoft .Net Framework install has failed,’ asking to continue: Select ‘Yes.’ This failure can happen for two reasons. 1) You already have a more recent Microsoft.Net Framework installed or 2) You do not have administrative rights to do the install. If you are curious, you can verify your version of Microsoft.Net Framework by looking in the Control Panel, Add Remove Programs tab. Scroll down to Microsoft and verify the Framework version. This error can also occur when you have a previous version of the Roadway Safety Program that has not been uninstalled. See trouble shooting tip 2.
If you are unable to download the program, and are a member of NAPA, contact Kim Williams, otherwise, please visit the WorkZoneSafety Website.
