How good is good enough? How does a company know whether it measures up nationally? The National Asphalt Pavement Association has created its Diamond Commendation Program – the Diamond Achievement, Diamond Paving, and Diamond Quality – to help companies in the asphalt industry answer these questions.
The Diamond Commendations encourage and recognize excellence. Continuous improvement in all aspects of operations is the goal. The commendations are self-assessments which require third-party verification by community leaders or other individuals who are not affiliated with the company. Recognition is both national (facilitated by NAPA) and local (facilitated by state asphalt pavement associations and by companies within their own communities
Taken together, the three commendations provide a blueprint for excellence in all aspects of the industry’s operations, both at the plant and on the paving site. Eligibility All companies in the asphalt pavement industry in the United States are eligible for the Diamond Quality and Diamond Paving Commendations. All companies in the asphalt pavement industry in the United States and Canada are eligible for the Diamond Achievement Commendation. Application process Applications for the Diamond Quality and Diamond Paving commendations must be completed online. Online applications for the Diamond Achievement Commendation are available to NAPA Members only, and other companies may request a paper copy of the Diamond Achievement application forms. Whether online or paper applications are used, applicants know whether they qualify, even without submitting the forms. Recognition Companies that earn a Diamond Commendation will receive a handsome plaque, press releases for distribution to local media, and other materials to support recognition within the local community. Companies that earn a Diamond Commendation or Commendations by October 31 will be recognized at the next NAPA Annual Meeting. |
